Hey, I am Debbie Kincaid. I have been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at almost six months old.
I have been raised in a loving family, who wants the best for me. They spend extra time with
me to make my condition a little more easier to bare. Although my family’s hearts were breaking
when they found out about the diagnoses they continue to love me to death, working with me and
seeing the best in me! I started school at a very early age to get some therapy and make friends.
I developed a love for learning when I was a teenager. I went to and graduated regular High School.
I was in special education classes throughout school, and noticed I didn’t learn everything I should.
So after graduation I started another journey, at home-schooling myself, trying to learn everything
I didn’t learn in public education. I did a little home schooling while I went to West Davidson.High School.
I am learning so much more than I could ever learn in public school. I should finish it this Feb. Of 2010.
This has been a remarkable journey. About five years I have been going to the Governmental Center,
where my Mom works, twice a week to help and to socialize some. I made some great friends that will be
my friends for a very long time. This has been a major highlight in my week. One of my dreams is to become
a teacher, so about a year ago I am volunteering in a special need classroom to try to fulfill that dream
the best way I can. Each time I go it blesses me by being around the kids. I am a Christian since 1992,
I got saved one year after Vacation Bible School. I always loved my Heavenly Father, but very recently
I have been walking closer to Him. The summer of 2009, I have been getting into the Bible and actually
reading it. This has helped me out a lot because I can cope with things a whole lot better than before.
I know this has made me a better person. As long as you have Christ in your heart, you can’t go wrong!!
